William Demps Releases Provocative Disaster-Horror Graphic Novel Series kindle: Parousia

San Francisco, California Jan 23, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Artist and creator William Demps releases kindle: Parousia, a disaster-horror graphic novel series set within The Luminous Universe, delivering an unfiltered exploration of catastrophe, belief systems, identity, and human behavior under extreme pressure.

Written during a critical period of the authors life while receiving treatment for severe PTSD at a Veterans Affairs psychiatric ward, kindle: Parousia draws directly from lived experience, observation, and personal reflection. The series uses the backdrop of a world-altering, soul-level rapture, partly inspired by the 2010 Haiti earthquake to examine how societies fracture when disaster strikes without warning or preference.

Blending psychological horror with philosophical and cultural commentary, kindle: Parousia challenges belief systems, modern social ideologies, and institutional contradictions, asking difficult questions about faith, power, morality, and survival when structures fail and nature remains indifferent.

This story was written when there was no reason left to hold anything back, says Demps. Disaster doesnt care about belief, politics, or identity. When everything collapses, truth surfaces and not everyone survives it.

kindle: Parousia is intended strictly for mature audiences. The series does not aim to reassure or persuade. Instead, it stands as a confrontational work of disaster horror, using extreme circumstances to expose human behavior, psychological breaking points, and the limits of ideology during global collapse.

The narrative voice is informed by firsthand exposure to crisis response, military environments, and long-term psychological strain. The result is a graphic novel series that merges apocalyptic horror with mythic symbolism, social critique, and deeply personal storytelling.

William Demps served in the United States Navy as an Aerographers Mate (Weather Specialist), with experience supporting humanitarian and combat-related missions. He studied Game Art & Design at Westwood College, training under artists connected to The Prince of Egypt and Disney Imagineers.

Demps later expanded his skill set across multiple creative and technical disciplines, including formal training in the Psychic Arts under Gary Spivey. His background spans visual storytelling, skilled trades, and competitive gaming. He has participated in major tournaments, including Evolution Tournament 2025, earning a 3/5 win record.
