Written during a critical period of the authors life while receiving treatment for severe PTSD at a Veterans Affairs psychiatric ward, kindle: Parousia draws directly from lived experience, observation, and personal reflection. The series uses the backdrop of a world-altering, soul-level rapture, partly inspired by the 2010 Haiti earthquake to examine how societies fracture when disaster strikes without warning or preference.

William Demps served in the United States Navy as an Aerographers Mate (Weather Specialist), with experience supporting humanitarian and combat-related missions. He studied Game Art & Design at Westwood College, training under artists connected to The Prince of Egypt and Disney Imagineers.
Demps later expanded his skill set across multiple creative and technical disciplines, including formal training in the Psychic Arts under Gary Spivey. His background spans visual storytelling, skilled trades, and competitive gaming. He has participated in major tournaments, including Evolution Tournament 2025, earning a 3/5 win record.
